hyraxhotong is a collaborative furniture design project by architect, Meghan Ho-Tong, and artisan, Jaekan Coetzee.

Chair One is a slow chair. It takes time to make. It is built from solid yellowwood with interlocking timber joints. There are no mechanical or glue fixings. It is light but it is grounded.

We like working with other creatives to produce stories that use our furniture to inspire narratives. Our collaborators to date include Alexis Christodoulou, Gabrielle Guy, Akina Label and Kristi Vlok.
